Description

The armies of Horus Lupercal continue their stranglehold on the Palace of Terra, and now the walls and bastions begin to buckle and fall. Rogal Dorn intensifies his attempts to hold back the inexorable tides of traitorous forces, but the troops at his command are immensely outmanned and lack the annihilating firepower of the enemy. Dorn simply cannot defend everything. To survive, he must sacrifice some fronts to hold on just a little longer in others. But which? Is there a single gambit, one critical warzone, that could change the course and win the war on the spot?

The Saturnine Gambit event will comprise of 3 games on Zone Mortalis (ZM) tables, Age of Darkness (AoD) tables, or doubles tables. Players will need to have lists for all 3 types of tables. Games will be narrative driven and thus armies must be fully painted with era appropriate models. If you have a question, don’t hesitate to email me (sfreed90@gmail.com). Loyalists vs Traitor, with individual victories going towards the teams overall score to determine if the Traitors can breach the main walls of the Palace and claim the Eternity Spaceport, or if the Loyalists can take advantage of Dorn’s gambit and stymie the Traitor advance. Ascended versions of Angron, Fulgrim, and Mortarion will be available to players who have either brought or converted demon versions of those primarchs. Email me if you are interested in playing one of these central figures in the story. The results of Saturday’s games will shape the course of the game on Sunday.

ZM tables will be using a 1250-point list and use the Zone Mortalis Combatant force organization chart. (1-2 HQ, 0-2 Elites, 1-5 Troops, 0-2 Fast Attack, 0-1 Heavy Support, 0-1 Primarch)

Age of Darkness tables will be using a 3000-point list and use the Crusade Force Organization Chart. (1-3 HQ, 0-4 Elites, 2-6 Troops, 0-3 Fast Attack, 0-3 Heavy Support, 0-1 Fortification, and 0-1 Primarch. Optional Lord of War detachment.)

Doubles tables will be using a 2000-point list per player and use the Crusade Force Organization Chart. (1-3 HQ, 0-4 Elites, 2-6 Troops, 0-3 Fast Attack, 0-3 Heavy Support, 0-1 Fortification, and 0-1 Primarch. Optional Lord of War detachment) Doubles games will select a single warlord per team, so although you will pick a warlord trait in your list, it is possibly it may not be used.
