The war for the future of humanity rages on. Despite the collapse of the outer defenses, the Palace walls are unbroken as Rogal Dorn uses every tactic and maneuver to stymie the innumerable hosts of the Warmaster. A slogging war of attrition has begun. The center stage for this conflict is the battle for the Lion’s Gate Spaceport. If the Traitors can take it, they can begin to land their Titan engines and other apocalyptic weaponry on Terran soil. It must not fall. The threat comes from within as well as without and the Neverborn press ever harder against the Emperor’s wards, can the Imperial defenders possibly prevail?
The First Wall event will comprise of small games of Horus Heresy 2nd edition to help acclimate new players to the style and fun of narrative play and to help 1st edition players get accustomed to the new ruleset. Expect 2 games minimum, with 1 more if time permits. Games will be narrative driven and thus armies must be fully painted with era appropriate models. If you have a question, don’t hesitate to email me (firstname.lastname@example.org). Loyalists vs Traitors, with individual victories going towards the teams overall score to determine if the Traitors can take control of the Lion’s Gate Spaceport, or if the Loyalists can hold them off, buying precious time. The results of Friday’s games will shape the course of the games on Saturday and Sunday.
Players will need to bring a 1500-point list using the Crusade Force Organization Chart listed in the core rule books (1-3 HQ, 0-4 Elites, 2-6 Troops, 0-3 Fast Attack, 0-3 Heavy Support, and 0-1 Fortification). Legacies documents and Exemplary Battles units are legal for this event. This is an objective based game; I would highly encourage players to bring at least some units with the Line subtype.
Restrictions: No Fury of the Ancients Rite of War please.
